About Me

Born in Miami and raised in New York during a time when hip-hop was more about skills and less about commercialism. G.I grew up listening to the sounds of legendary DJ’s such as “D.J Red Alert”, “Kid Capri” and “Ron G” Drawing inspiration from them his young ears learned to pick apart beats and styles. At the age of 15, G.I decided to save his money and buy some equipment of his own, "two ol'skool turntables, a mixer and an old guitar amp to use as a speaker, that's all this young mix kid needed at the time. His first DJ gig was a party at his high school. G.I gassed his self up so much to his classmates, but little did they know he only had a single crate of records and no experience. The party was wack, but G.I started over honing his craft day and night, non-stop. A few years later the school hosted a reunion and as fate would have it- G.I ended up playing again; this time he was ready and kept the crowd moving all night. He credits some of that party's success to his wicked blend of Michael Jackson's "Off The Wall " and Big Daddy Kane's "Set It Off". And that was just a sample of his unlimited skills. Over the years G.I has definitely paid his dues, hustling DJ gigs whenever and wherever he could; eventually putting together mix tapes that would sell abroad reaching eager fans as far away as Germany, Hawaii, Canada, Mexico and Japan. In 2000, G.I became an official member and DJ for the chart topping rap group “Sporty Thievz”and in 2005 became the official Dj for r&b superstar “BOBBY VALENTINO.In 2006 the Official DJ for R&B Songstress CHRISTINA MILIAN and DTP Soul Singer SHAREEFA as well as international R&B duo BLACK BUDDAFLY. A far ride from his early days, G.I has now become an experienced and acclaimed D.J headlining at top clubs throughout Europe, Canada and the USA. And in April of 2006 G.I lived out a life long dream on a 1 week tour in JAPAN playing 4 major clubs in Tokyo,Japan and since then has returned 3 times.G.I has had the opportunity to be a part of many tours, including A 7-month “No Pigeons” tour with the “Sporty Thievz” that booked performances as far as Hawaii. G.I performs on DJ tours around the globe just recently on the Keishia Cole "A Better Me Tour" Summer of 2009 and he also has had the distinct privilege to perform on television shows such as “RAPCITY”, “Ricky Lake”, BET’s “Teen Summit” and most recently B.E.T’s “Rip The Runway” 06' & 09', “Spring Bling” 06',07" & 09' and “Showtime at the Apollo” 3 times.Flowing to his own beat, G.I has taken his career to another level making guest appearances on various radio mixshows across the country and internationally. G.I stays busy during when not in travels as studio engineer in NYC and at night with his own underground radio show in NYC. G.I also continues hooking up blazin' CD's every month for his global audience and manages to rock major clubs globally. With a Passion forlive club dj'ing and a passion for radio and the experience of a tour dj This is only the beginning for this amazing young gun! In time the world will know why he has earned the title of NYC most “Underated” Club messiah!
