DJ Wax has been spinning and producing R&B, Hip Hop, House, Reggae, Soca, Calypso, Disco, Oldies, Mainstream and everything in between for over 20 years . Built in Brooklyn and polished in Queens, NY he has provided production, remixes and scratches for various artists and music companies including Tommy Boy records. Growing up as young percussionist, he was quickly inspired by infamous disc jockeys and music producers Marley Marl, Red Alert, Chuck Chillout, Pete Rock, Cash Money, Jazzy Jeff, Primo, Tony Humphries, Bobby Konders, and DJ Ace “The Original Crowd Motivator”. I t all began with one record (Eric B is President - Eric B. and Rakim) , his Dad’s one turntable and a manual mixer (Wax turning the volume up and down on a Fisher receiver) Wax has played various night clubs in New York City such as Fantasia, Club Demerara (House DJ), Palladium, China Club, Webster Hall, Roseland, Roxy and many more while also playing mobile throughout the U.S. In playing for clients such as the US Postal Service, NYC Department of Corrections, NYC Dental Association, Robert Townsend, Mike Tyson, Grand Master Dee, and having previously participated in the DMC DJ competition, he has played on the smallest and largest stages. DJ Wax became a member of the SGL Productions team in the late 80’s. SGL PRODUCTIONS was founded back in 1979 by Eric J. Sutton and Darryl E. Kelson. Originally called "Solid Gold Sounds", SGL quickly made a name for itself playing all the neighborhood house parties and making "basement tapes". SGL consists of 5 highly skilled craftsmen who not only look at this profession as an art but rise above all others to truly live up to the moniker, "The Crowd Pleasers".
