It looks as if an NFL lockout may become a reality. Labor talks between the players union and the owners halted after the owners walked out on a proposal from the players to split revenues 50/50. The NFL brings in $9 billion dollars a year in revenues, $1 billion of which is automatically taken off the top by owners for operating costs. The owners are looking to add another $1 billion to that pot but have been refusing the player's request to see the books to determine if there truly is a financial hardship as has been claimed by the owners. In an effort to move past this issue, the players offered to split the entire pot 50/50 and the owners walked out. Looks like this is going to be a long off season for the NFL.
